AVTZL 6 :  7 Days Ngorongoro Crater / Serengeti (Lobo & Seronera) L.Manyara / Tarangire

Day 1 – Arusha / Tarangire

Pick up from your Hotel. Depart Arusha and proceed to Tarangire National Park for a morning game viewing en-route to your lodge for lunch and thereafter, an afternoon game drive returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Tarangire National Park takes its name from the river, which flows through the park – a vital watering point for the animals of the park as well as those from the sorounding area, especially during the dry months of June to October. Resident species include elephant, buffalo, Lion, Giraffe, rhino, Impala, Kudu and dik dik.

Day 2 -   Tarangire / Gibbs Farm (Karatu)
After breakfast we spend the morning in the Park game viewing, returning to the lodge for lunch. Proceed to Gibb’s farm (A beautiful Lodge in the Ngorongoro highlands near to the Crater) for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – Ngorongoro

We depart for Ngorongoro crater after breakfast with packed lunches for a full day’s crater tour. Dinner and overnight at a lodge on the crater rim

Ngorongoro Conservation Area, an 8,920 sq. Km conservation area situated between Arusha and Serengeti with Ngorongoro Crater at its heart.  The floor of the Crater, a vast natural amphitheatre, teems with game – elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard, cheetah, wildebeest, gazelle and Zebra share the base of this collapsed volcano with Maasai tribesmen and their herds of cattle. Birds hover and dart, with thousands flamingo casting a pink haze over the lake on the crater floor; all seen against the majestic backdrop of the crater walls – the ‘eight wonder of the world’ according to some authorities.

Day 4 -   Ngorongoro / Serengeti (Lobo)
Leaving the Ngorongoro Conservation area we drive off into the Serengeti National Park game viewing  en-route as we drive North to the Northern boarder of the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara (of Kenya!). Lunch at the Lobo Lodge on the Wildebeest migration route. A full afternoons game viewing with dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5 - Serengeti (Seronera)
Departing Lobo after breakfast, we drive South through the Serengeti plains to Seronera game viewing en-route. Lunch at the Seronera Lodge and thereafter, an afternoon game drive returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Serengeti National Park: The terrain within Serengeti varies from treeless plains to Savannah dotted with acacia trees and dramatic rocky kopjes and along riverbanks, riverine bush, thick scrub and forest. ‘Serengeti’ simply means ‘open space’. Although best known for it’s magnificent lions, it contains over 35 species of plains game and some 500 species of birds.

Day 6 – Serengeti / Lake Manyara

After a full mornings game viewing, we return to the Lodge for lunch and thereafter, proceed to Lake Manyara for dinner and overnight

Day 7 -   Lake Manyara / Arusha

Leave after an early breakfast and enter the Lake Manyara National Park for a full morning game drive with picnic lunch. Return to Arusha thereafter arriving in the late afternoon.

Lake Manyara National Park – TZ: Only 330 sq. kms, two thirds water, one third dry land and home to a spectacular concentration of game for such a small area is Lake Manyara National park! Elephant and baboon roam the tropical forest and light woodland, buffalo and lion the scrub and open plains and up to 200 hippo congregate in the fresher waters where the Simba River flows into the lake. Manyara is particularly famous for the tree climbing lions and the many species of birds found here.
